Never Mind The Size of The Mountain

Published by davisadmin on

“Listen to the truth I speak to you: If someone says to this mountain with great faith and having no doubt, ‘Mountain, be lifted up and thrown into the midst of the sea,’ and believes that what he says will happen, it will be done.” (Mark 11:23, TPT)

Do you remember the commercial: When E.F. Hutton talks, people listen?

Well, the lesson taught in Mark 11:23 is one of those E.F. Hutton moments.

Jesus starts His message by merely saying, “Listen.”

I can imagine that every time Jesus spoke, the Disciples would stop what they were doing and listen attentively to every syllable, word, and punctuation mark that proceeded from His mouth.

Words of wisdom — words of encouragement — words of affirmation — they all were as rich as a decadent dessert.

When Jesus spoke, He was imparting truth into the souls of the Disciples. Sometimes they caught the revelation, and sometimes they didn’t. But much of what they came to know and understand about Jesus happened after His crucifixion and resurrection.

However, on the road through Bethany, these men witnessed yet another astonishing act. A fig tree showing signs of life in the off-season caught Jesus’s attention. When the Messiah went to pull fruit from the tree, there was none. So, He cursed the tree leaving it barren, never to bear fruit again. Within twenty-four hours, this fig tree had dried up from the root to the branches.

The Disciples, mainly Peter, were taken back. How could this have happened and so quickly?

The answer to this question hinged upon faith in God.

It was at this point Jesus called the AP Class in Faith into session. He explained that if anyone has unwavering faith, they can speak to this mountain “be lifted up and thrown into the midst of the sea.” And “if one believes that what he says will happen, it will be done.”

Faith in God releases spiritual authority to every Believer. Believers can speak directly to the mountains in their lives and command them to move with this authority. No matter how big or how small, faith is the supernatural force behind the desired action.

You see, it’s not the size of the mountain that makes the difference. It’s your measure of faith that causes it to move.

I believe God is calling us to new realms of power and authority this season if we dare to believe that we can receive. If we have the faith to believe, the obstacles that show up in our lives will leave quickly — just as quickly as the fig tree withered and died.

24 hours! (There may be someone reading this blog post today that needs a mountain moved within 24 hours.)

I ask you. Why overexert yourself trying to climb the mountain? Why overexert yourself trying to maneuver your way around the mountain? All you need to do is speak to the mountain.

Exercise your faith and save your energy. God has need of you. But He needs an energized you — full of confidence, faith, and power — His power. He has called you for an appointed time and season. And when that set time comes, you will show forth His glory for all the world to see.
