Knock, Knock!

I am! I stand at the door and knock. ⏤ Revelation 3:20

Do you remember as a child doing Knock, Knock jokes?

Knock, knock.

Who’s there?

Etch.

Etch who?

Bless you!

Jesus may not play a Knock, Knock joke, but He does stand at the door and knock.

“Behold, I’m standing at the door, knocking. If your heart is open to hear my voice and you open the door within I will come in to you and feast with you, and you will feast with me.” (TPT)

In essence, when Jesus knocks, He is taking us back to our childhood. If our hearts are open to hearing His voice, we’ll hear Him say, “Knock, knock.” And like any other time, when we hear a knock at the door, we’ll ask, “Who’s there?”

He’ll say, “Jehovah.”

We’ll say, “Jehovah who?”

Then, He’ll say, “Jehovah, whomever you need me to be in this hour.”

If you need peace, I’m Jehovah-Shalom.

If you need provisions, I’m Jehovah-Jireh.

If you need healing, I’m Jehovah-Ropheka.

If you need a mighty warrior, someone to fight a battle, I’m Jehovah-Gibbor.

If you’re feeling alone, I’m Jehovah-Shammah, The One who is present.

If you’re feeling week, I’m Jehovah-Tsur. I Am your strength.

Whatever you need today, that’s who’s knocking at your door.

Do you hear the voice of the Lord behind the knock?

Will you open from within, invite Him in, and sit down and fellowship with Him?

He will not force His way in or break down the door like an intruder.

He comes in by invitation only.

So, Knock, knock. Who’s there???

Father, I thank you for being the one who supplies all of my needs according to your riches in glory. When you stand at the door of my heart and knock, I will open it unto You, for I acknowledge you as Jehovah, the One who meets my every need. Thank you for being who you are in my life and for the many blessings, seen and unseen, that you have bestowed upon me. I will forever praise your name and proclaim your goodness to all who have an ear to hear. In Jesus’ name, amen.
